4-cartridge magazine for up to 364 GB
storage (with 2.6:1 compression)
The TSL-SA300C/TB autoloader utilizes a compact 4-cartridge magazine
with a unique push mechanism tape transport. The magazine design
delivers reliable automated tape handling while reducing the typical
mis-grip issues associated with other tape transport technologies.
And with up to 91 GB of data storage per AIT-1 data cartridge (with
2.6:1 compression) you can store up to 364 GB in a single compact
device.
High performance tape drive technology
built-in
The TSL-SA300C/TB autoloader is built around Sony's proven AIT-1
tape technology, the SDX-300C tape drive. The SDX-300C delivers
data at sustained transfer rates up to 6.0 MB/s (with 2:1 compression)
while providing reliable recording with Sony's Active Head Cleaner
mechanism.
Fast access to data with MIC
The unique Memory-In-Cassette feature of Sony AIT tape, with 64
kB of built-in programmable memory, speeds access to data. With
an MIC reader built into the elevator mechanism of the autoloader,
search times can be dramatically reduced.
High reliability
Sony AIT tape drives incorporate a redesigned head geometry, reducing
head/tape pressure and delivering up to 50,000 hours of head life.
The built-in Active Head Cleaner mechanism results in an industry
leading MTBF rating of 300,000 POH.
Trial Bundle of network backup software
The TSL-SA300C/TB autoloader comes with 60-day live trial versions
of network backup applications. Veritasr Backup Exec for Windows
NTr and Windowsr 2000, along with Backup Exec for Novellr NetWarer
offer both Single Server and Multi Server editions. See which application
meets your needs, try it on your own network for 60 days, and you
can purchase the full version direct from Sony after the trial period.
