8-cartridge magazine for up to 320 GB storage (with 2:1
compression)
Sony new DDS-4 autoloader utilizes an 8-cartridge magazine with
a unique push mechanism tape transport. The magazine design delivers
reliable automated tape handling while reducing the typical mis-grip
issues associated with other tape transport technologies. And with
a capacity of 40 GB (with 2:1 compression) per catridge, the TSL-S11000/TB
delivers up to 320 GB of storage in a compact form factor.
High performance tape drive technology
built-in
The TSL-S11000/TB autoloader is built around Sony's latest DDS-4
tape technology, the SDT-11000 tape drive. The first DDS-4 tape
mechanism introduced to the market, the SDT-11000 delivers data
at sustained transfer rates up to 4.8 MB/s (with 2:1 compression)
while providing reliable recording with Sony's patented Super Head
CleanerT mechanism.
Full backward compatibility protects your
existing data archives
To secure your investment in data stored on earlier generations
of DDS media, Sony DDS-3 tape autoloaders are fully read and write
compatible with DDS-3, DDS-2, and DDS-1 tape formats.
Trial Bundle of network backup software
The TSL-S11000/TB autoloader comes with 60 day live trial versions
of network backup applications. Veritas® Backup Exec for Windows
NT® and Windows® 2000, along with Backup Exec for Novell®
NetWare® offer both Single Server and Multi Server editions.
See which application meets your needs, try it on your own network
for 60 days, and you can purchase the full version direct from Sony
after the trial period.
High reliability with flexible configuration
With an MTBF of 225,000 Power-on-Hours and MSBF of up to 180,000
load/unload cycles, Sony DDS autoloaders deliver high performance
with sacrificing reliability. Sony's unique Hyper MetalT head used
in its DDS-4 tape mechanism reduces error rates by up to 10 times
over traditional ferrite MIG heads. And with the ability to be mounted
in either vertical or horizontal orientation, Sony autoloaders offer
the flexibility to fit almost any system installation requirements.
