The IBM 7337 Digital Linear Tape
Library Model 360 is an automated tape library incorporating
DLT8000 Tape Drives and attaching to RS/6000 and RS/6000 SP
servers supporting AIX(TM) with a LVD Small Computer Systems
Interface (SCSI).
The 7337 Model 360 library can be configured with one to six
IBM DLT8000 tape drives. Multiple drives offer enhanced functions
such as faster transfer of data, simultaneous backup, concurrent
read/write operations, and fault tolerance.
The IBM 7337 Model 360 is a stand-alone unit. With an optional
feature, the 7337 Model 360 can be mounted in an industry-standard
EIA-310-D 19-inch rack. The IBM 7337 Model 360 utilizes DLTtapeIV
tape cartridges providing 40 GB native capacity and up to 80
GB with 2:1 hardware data compression, giving the 7337 Model
360 typical storage capacities of up to 2.4 TB and 4.8 TB (with
2:1 compression). The 7337 Model 360 has a per drive native
data rate up to 6 MB per second and up to 12 MB per second with
2:1 compression. A bar code reader is included.
The IBM 7337 DLT8000 Digital Linear Tape Library can be used
for save/restore, program distribution, migration, data interchange,
automatic migration of data between disk storage and tape, and
mass storage for data archive. Storage and tape management for
the 7337 Model 360 is provided by software such as Tivoli Storage
Manager and other industry-leading compatible software offerings. |
