We have our own workshop located in the south of England bordering on the Hampshire/ Berkshire borders in the United Kingdom (UK), which is dedicated to the repair of tape drives and back up units. DAT Tape Drive Repairs

Reactive offer a repairs on all makes of internal and external DAT drives. DDS1, DDS2, DDS3 and DDS4 drive technology are all repairable, however some restrictions, such as replacement tape heads can mean that certain drives cannot be covered under the fixed price scheme (please call for details). All makes can be repaired, Archive, Compaq, HP, HP Surestore, Seagate, Sony, Wangdat etc. Autoloaders and libraries are priced only after evaluation.

DLT Tape Drive Repairs

Reactive offer repairs on all makes of single DLT4000, DLT7000, DLT8000 or DLT1 drives, whether it be HP, IBM, Quantum or Tandberg Data etc. Autoloaders are priced only after evaluation.

LTO Tape Drive Repairs

Reactive offer repairs on all manufacturers of LTO1, LTO2 and LTO3 Tape Drives, from Compaq to StorageTek. LTO Autoloaders are priced only after evaluation.

AIT Tape Drive Repairs

Repair Process
We carry out a comprehensive tape repair on all drives and in some instances we can enhance the performance of you drive making it more efficient than a new device. Our tape repair process is very in-depth and c onsists of:

• Initial fault diagnosis
• Drive dismantled to modular level and cleaned
• Fault modified and where applicable preventative maintenance carried out
• Routine replacement of pinch rollers, reel tops etc.
• Drive re-assembled and re-aligned to manufacturers specification
• Drive tested using manufacturers specific test software
• Conformance, Fault Report & Final Test results documented on request

Service

We offer a fast 5-day turnaround time, ensuring minimum down time or stock disruption. Each tape drive repair is returned with a minimum of 6-months no quibble warranty. We also offer free technical support to all our customers and those who have not traded with us but are in need of assistance. We have a dedicated team of tape data storage specialist waiting to help with any enquiry you may have.

Quality

When ever possible we replace faulty parts with brand new parts from the manufacturer. In some cases we can supply after market parts, which are specifically, designed to last longer that the manufacturers i.e. heads, reel tops etc. Because Reactive produce the highest quality repair of tape technology in Europe we insist that we have documentation to prove this. We have been ISO9002 registered since 1993 and in 2001 became ISO9001:2000 registered for the first time. We are also NATO approved and have been awarded a NATO GAGE number. Our workshop facility also reflects our dedication to high quality, reliable repair. The workshop conforms to strict anti-static precautionary measures.

Repair vs. New

1. Reactive can ensure a higher performance on repaired product
2. Reactive will always use new parts and in some instances these will be enhanced
3. Reactive will provide a minimum of 6 months warranty on every repair
4. Repair will be approximately 1/3rd the cost of new
5. All repairs are returned with the same firmware revision that the device was received with
6. Your product may now be obsolete and upgrading may cause compatibility problems
