Disk Drive Emulation Systems
Product:
AEM-1
Data Sheet: Download
PDF file
Emulation: SMD to SCSI
Description:
The AEM-1 offers a plug compatible SCSI drive replacement for numerous
mainframe and mid-range SMD disk drives. The AEM-1 uses the existing
cabling, disk controller, and operating system. The AEM-1 appears
to the customer's computer exactly like the original SMD disk drive.
This is accomplished by emulating the SMD interface protocol for
the controller and storing the data on a highly reliable SCSI disk
drive.
Product:
AEM-5C
Data Sheet: Download
PDF file
Emulation: RKO5, Pertec, Diablo
Cartridge to SCSI
Description:
The AEM-5C is an upgraded data storage system to replace hard disk
drives using the Diablo/Pertec interface. Daisy chaining is fully
implemented. Merely unplug the existing drive and install the AEM-5C
using the same cables. The AEM-5C can also be added, along with
the present drive to the existing system. Improved performance and
capabilities are achieved through faster data transfer rates, faster
seek times, reduced power consumption and multiple volumes on a
single drive provide additional drive space.
Product:
AEM-3
Data Sheet: Download
PDF file
Emulation: Honeywell HISI to SCSI
Description:
The AEM-3 replaces most disk drives that use the industry standard
Honeywell 76-pin multiplex interface. It can be configured to emulate
drives from Control Data, MPI, and Honeywell. No hardware or software
modifications are required to use the latest SCSI drives. Some host
controllers are capable of data transfer rates up to 3 times faster
than the original HISI disk drive.
Product:
AEM/RSD
Data Sheet: Download
PDF file
Emulation: SMD to SCSI (RSD &
FSD Style)
Description:
The AEM/RSD is an upgraded data storage unit for RSD and FSD style
disk drives made by Control Data, Century Data, Hitachi, Fujitsu,
NEC, and many others. The head disk assembly is replaced with an
emulator that includes a 3.5" SCSI drive for data storage.
An entirely new control system, that emulates various drive types,
replaces the original electronics. Dual porting and daisy chaining
are fully implemented. Merely unplug the existing drive and install
the AEM/RSD using the same cables.
Product:
EID-1
Data Sheet: Download
PDF file
Emulation: SMD to SCSI
Description:
Now there is a simple way to use reliable SCSI drives on present
real-time or minicomputer. Reduce downtime and service calls - eliminate
unreliable disk drives. The EID-1 directly replaces the original
disk drive with an ARRAID drive emulator. EID-1 mimics the operation
of the original drive, but actually stores data on a new SCSI drive.
The change is totally transparent to the operating system. The operating
procedures for the system are not altered.
Tape
Emulation and Data Storage Systems
Product:
TES-1
Data Sheet: Download
PDF file
Emulation: Tape to SCSI
Description:
The TES-1 replaces most tape drives that use the industry standard,
Pertec interface. With files stored on a disk rather than tape,
individual files are available without the necessity of spooling
through a long tape. With the TES-1, seek times are measured in
milliseconds, rather than minutes.
Product:
PMT-1
Data Sheet: Download
PDF file
Function: 9-Track Reel-to-Reel
Tape Drive
Description:
The PMT-1 is a 9-track ½-inch magnetic tape unit compatible
with most tension arm tape drives using the Pertec or SCSI interface
standards. Numerous tape drives from Kennedy, Pertec, Cipher, Digi-Data,
H-P, and Teac, along with many other brands, are compatible with
the PMT-1. Therefore, it can replace most installed units, or be
used concurrently, without requiring change in the system or application
code.
File
Conversion
Product:
FCSNT
Data Sheet: Download
PDF file
Function: Minicomputer files converted
to Windows 2000/NT format
Description:
Using the computers tape controller output and the Arraid
TES-1 Tape Emulation System, an output file is written to the TES-1s
Zip disk. The files on the Zip disk are then read by Arraids
File Conversion Software for NT (FCSNT). A PC with a Zip disk drive
and Windows 2000 or NT4 installed, along with the FCSNT software,
is used to convert the files. The software conversion produces a
standard NTFS/FAT file and stores it to a designated directory.
Floppy
Drive Emulation Systems
Product:
Miltope Floppy Drive Upgrade
Data Sheet: Download
PDF file
Emulation: Miltope Floppy to Zip
Disk
Description:
Full compatibility with the Miltope Mass Storage Unit (MSU) 8"
floppy drive has been demonstrated. The modified MU-739 operates
in the production environment without changes to the interface or
software. The modified MU-739 emulates the drive parameters and
timing specifications of the original unit, making the change transparent
to the host. The modified MU-739 directly replaces the existing
8" floppy disk with a high capacity Zip disk.
Product:
FES-1
Data Sheet: Download
PDF file
Emulation: replaces LP/FD interface
floppy drives with 3½" and/or 5¼" floppy
drives
Description:
The FES-1 replaces dual 8" floppy drives and dual 5¼"
floppy drives used as boot devices on Gould/SEL and Encore computer
systems. It is available with 3½", 5¼",
or a combination, in three different models. The FES-1 uses currently
available ANSI standard floppy disk drives and media for improved
reliability and maintainability. FES-1 is fully plug compatible
with the Gould/SEL Line Printer/Floppy Disk (LP/FD) controller,
and is easy to install.
Network
Attached Storage
Product:
NAS Drive
Data Sheet: Download
PDF file
Function: Network Attached RAID
Storage
Description:
The Arraid NAS Drive is a highly scalable storage solution that
addresses the growing demand for reliable workgroup storage. Simultaneously
accessible by Windows, Unix, NetWare, and HTTP clients, the NAS
Drive affords maximum flexibility. NAS Drive was designed with ease
of operation in mind - it has all necessary software for operation
embedded on-board. Administration for NAS Drive, including configuration
management and updates, are handled with a web browser interface.
Stored data is protected with RAID level 1 or level 5. User specified
storage groups can be partitioned and protected with access security.
Product:
NAS CDstor
Data Sheet: Download
PDF file
Function: Network attached CD/DVD
Server
Description:
The Arraid NAS CDstor incorporates fast setup features and uses
hard disk storage and caching for maximum performance. Connectivity
to Netware, MAC, Windows NT, NFS and HTTP Web Server environments
is simple. Multiple clients using a variety of protocols can simultaneously
access the same or different drives. A variety of drive storage,
CD/DVD readers and writers are available. Units are available as
standard tower, locking door, or rack mounted enclosures.
Product:
Network Storage
Data Sheet: Download
PDF file
Function: Unattended Network
Data Storage and Backup
Description:
It is more efficient to utilize the existing network to transfer
backup data to a centralized storage device than using a data storage
unit at each server. With one storage device and its dedicated server,
administration is simplified while allowing the entire network access
to the backup data files. The bandwidth of the network must be sufficient
to handle both the production data flow and the backup storage data.
Data
Storage Systems
Product:
SEC-1
Data Sheet: Download
PDF file
Function: SCSI Expansion Chassis
Description:
The SEC-1 is a cost-effective, rack mount expansion chassis, supporting
4 removable or fixed 3.5" SCSI disk, tape, or cartridge drives.
The SEC-1 supports all current 3.5" SCSI disk systems. SEC-1
chassis can be daisy-chained to support additional drives. The SEC-1
