SanDisk SD Memory Card Family

More people rely on SanDisk memory cards than any other brand in the world, and for good reasons. As a pioneer and leader in the field, SanDisk designs its own non-volatile flash memory and controller technology, and develops the complete card design and manufacturing process. By having this capability, staying very close to the customers and meeting the needs of the markets served, SanDisk is able to continually set the standard for quality, reliability and performance.

Ultra II SD Memory Card
Designed by a consortium of SanDisk, Matsushita Electric (Panasonic) and Toshiba, the SD Memory Card is supported by the SD Association, an open industry standards organization with more than 500 members.

The SD card is a leading solution for meeting the demand for portable digital devices that require high-capacity flash memory in a small form factor. With a high-performance interface, and built-in security features for protecting copyrighted data, SanDisk SD cards are compatible with all SD-compliant devices.

Ultra II product lines offers additional, advanced performance features.

  • Minimum of 10MB/second sequential read speed for ultra-fast image viewing and data transfer
  • Minimum 9MB/second sequential write speed lets you capture large image files faster
miniSDT Memory Card
SanDisk's miniSD is designed specifically to meet the minimal space requirements of today's portable digital devices. Built to conform to industry-leading SD card standards, it delivers the same electrical interface and functionality in less than half the size of a standard SD card.

microSDT / TransFlashT Memory Module
Incredibly small - just 11mm by 15mm and 1mm thick - SanDisk microSD / TransFlash cards meet the needs of next generation, feature-rich mobile phones and devices by delivering manufacturing and aftermarket flexibility, and easy transportability of end user data.

TransFlash was invented by SanDisk, and the microSD / TransFlash card is the open industry standard and is fully compatible and interoperable with TransFlash.

High Capacity SD (SDHC)
The SD High Capacity (SDHCT) card is a new SDT memory card based on the SDA 2.00 specification, introduced by the SD Card Association. This new SDA 2.00 specification enables SD cards to reach higher capacities: 4GB - 32GB*.

Because SDHC cards are recognized by new SDHC host devices differently than standard SD cards, they are not backwards compatible with legacy SD format host devices. Standard SD cards are forward compatible with new SDHC host devices.

Legacy SD host devices and SD cards (up to 2GB) are FAT 16 file system compatible, while the new SDA version 2.00 file system specification defines a SD FAT 32 file system for the new SDHC host devices and cards.

Compatibility with SDHC 4GB:

4GB SDHC cards can only work with SDHC compatible host devices. To ensure compatibility, look for the SDHC logo on the packaging. Please check with your device manufacturer for their current/future supported SDHC devices.

miniSDHC
The miniSD High Capacity (miniSDHCT) card is a new SDT memory card based on the SDA 2.00 specification, introduced by the SD Card Association. This new SDA 2.00 specification enables SD cards to reach higher capacities: 4GB - 32GB*.
